Positioned 30 miles from Mahon and about 5km west of the former capital, Ciudadela, perching on a rocky headland, Cala'n Forcat is considered to be Menorca's liveliest resort. But Menorca's answer to Magaluf it is not. This is a plus factor for a lot who choose to stay at Talayot Apartments. In Cala'n Forcat you'll still reveal inexpensive fast food outlets, English theme pubs and karaoke dens, but it's low-key in comparison with its busy Balearic neighbour. With a flight time of under 3 hours, last minute holidays to Cala'n Forcat are an alluring proposition. And when you get to Talayot Apartments you'll probably have such an excellent holiday that you will want to return next year.....

Talayot Apartments is in Cala n Forcat which is set on the Mediterranean island of Menorca (sometimes spelt as Minorca). The island of Menorca is the second biggest of the Balearic islands and is only 21 miles from the bigest Balearic island, Majorca. Those who have already been to Majorca or Ibiza, will find that Menorca is frequently less lively than the other islands. With a larger number beaches than any other Balearic island, Menorca is well known for it's large number of resorts that are family-friendly. The northern coast of Menorca is generally very rugged and populated with tranquil fishing villages. The south coast of Menorca is mainly a complete contrast and is populated with quiet resorts that are suitable for families.

As already mentioned Menorca is relatively a small island. By renting a car you could easily visit the complete island. There are plenty of tourism information offices situated in in the holiday resorts of Menorca providing the latest information regarding Menorca beaches, local events and excursions. The tourist information offices are also an excellent source for a map.

The island of Menorca is much smaller and slower paced than Mallorca. This tranquillity explains why Menorca holidays are generally focussed on the family holiday market. Unsuprisingly many of resorts are deemed to be family friendly. The island of Menorca has avoided over-development and keeps more of the authentic Spanish charm than the busier islands. So why don't you pack your flip-flops and head off to Talayot Apartments in Cala n Forcat and take in the sun at a destination with genuine island charm and character?
