Cala'n Forcat is also a great base from which to uncover the rest of the west coast. Positioned just over 30 miles from Mahon and approximately 3 miles to the west of the previous capital, Ciudadela, perching on a rocky headland, Cala'n Forcat is possibly Menorca's liveliest resort. That said, Menorca's answer to Magaluf it is not. This is Cala'n Forcat's appeal for most who decide to holiday at Villa Ana. In Cala'n Forcat you'll still reveal cheap fast food outlets, English theme pubs and karaoke dens, but it's very low-key when compared to its busy Balearic neighbour. With a flight time of less than 3 hours, last minute holidays to Cala'n Forcat are an alluring proposition. And once you get to Villa Ana you're likely to have a superb holiday that you will want to come again next year..... Villa Ana is in the holiday resort of Cala n Forcat which is set on the Mediterranean island of Menorca (sometimes called Minorca). The island of Menorca is the second biggest of the Balearic islands and is just 21 miles from the bigger Balearic island, Majorca. Those who have already visited either Majorca or Ibiza, will soon find that Menorca is often less lively than the other islands. With more beaches than any other Balearic island, Menorca is reknowned for it's large number of resorts that are suitable for families. The north coast of Menorca is generally very rugged and dotted with peaceful fishing villages. The southern coast of Menorca is mainly the exact opposite and is dotted with peaceful resorts that are suitable for families. As already mentioned Menorca is relatively a small island. By renting a car you could easily tour the whole island. There are a lot of tourist information offices dotted around in the towns of Menorca providing up to date information regarding Menorca beaches, local events and excursions. The Menorca tourist information offices are also an excellent source for a map of the island. Menorca is far more compact and quieter than Mallorca. This unhurried pace is probably why Menorca holidays are largely focussed on the family holiday market. It is no suprise that most of resorts are deemed to be family friendly. The island of Menorca is less developed and maintains a lot of the original Spanish character than the busier islands. So why don't you pack your flip-flops and head off to Villa Ana in Cala n Forcat and take in the sun on an island with genuine Balearic charm and character? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
